1. Patience - Take That
Take That reigns strong over the UK charts this week, topping the singles, airplay, and albums chart. "Patience" spends a second week at #1 on the singles chart and knocks The Feeling from #1 on the airplay chart. They also beat "popera" boyband Il Divo to the top of the albums chart with their first album in 10 years, Beautiful World. This is the first Il Divo album not to debut at #1 in Britain. This is Take That's fifth #1 album.
3. Boogie 2Nite - Booty Luv
Dance music continues its recent good luck streak with "Boogie 2Nite," first single by Booty Luv in at #3.
4. All Good Things (Come to an End) - Nelly Furtado
Capping off a great year is Nelly Furtado, who's last single of the year becomes her third straight top 5 hit, following #1 "Maneater" and #3 "Promiscious." Ballad "All Good Things..." is penned by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. It's Furtado's fifth top 5 hit overall.
9. Whistle for the Choir - Fratellis
Scottish rockers Fratellis score their second top 10 hit with "Whistle for the Choir." Despite the appearance of this being a band of brothers, only one member is actually named Fratelli--the other two took it on as a stage name.
10. Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Muse land a second top 10 hit this year, and it's a bit of surprise. Last single "Starlight" peaked at only #13, despite it having the broadest mainstream appeal of any of the singles from Black Holes and Revelations.
15. Bones - The Killers
While Muse manages to land a surprise top 10, The Killers are denied what should have been a slam dunk. Last single "When You Were Young" was their biggest hit yet, hitting #2. "Bones" is a great track and few bands have ongoing buzz as good as this band's. But buzz isn't enough to sustain hits--witness what's happened to Keane on the charts this year. "Bones" manages to become their second lowest charting single, just above #18 "All These Things That I've Done."
34. Beware of the Dog - Jamelia
Jamelia's second Walk With Me single debuts at #34 on downloads alone, a fairly strong showing. Her last single, "Something About You" debuted at #28 on downloads, but made it only to #9 the following week. If this goes top 10 next week, it will be her 7th top 10 hit.

I don't think I know any of these people.
Please. I know you know Take That, Nelly Furtado, the Killers, and Jamelia. We listen to them all the time.
Just because I'm not protesting doesn't mean I'm not listening. It's called defeat.
