Best Male Pop Vocal Performance

  • You're Beautiful - James Blunt
  • Save Room - John Legend
  • Waiting on the World to Change - John Mayer
  • Jenny Wren - Paul McCartney
  • Bad Day - Daniel Powter

Like the ladies, I predicted three of these: Blunt, Mayer, and Powter. McCartney and Legend are just as deserving as the other two I had predicted, Jack Johnson and Nick Lachey. Kind of a boring line-up I think.

"Jenny Wren - Paul McCartney"

Huh?

What the fuck? I haven't heard of half of these.

The John Mayer song is awful. It's him singing the same line over and over with some speak/singing. I'd still tap that though.

"Bad Day" and "You're Beautiful" were huge hits, but none of the others were. John Legend is a critics darling, the John Mayer song is new, and Paul McCartney is..Paul McCartney. If you think about, male solo singers really aren't that big in the US, and haven't been for the last few years, so the hit-power level of the male pop category always pales to that of the female pop category. American guy singers feel better about themselves if they have a band behind them; women don't need that.

You'd tap John Mayer? Really? He doesn't seem as cute as he used to. Maybe it's the Jessica Simpson taint.

I'm talking about John Mayer's taint.
