Grammy prediction: Collaboration Pop Performance w/Vocal

Beyonce and Shakira - Beautiful Liar

Alison Krauss & John Waite - Missing You

Annie Lennox & Friends - Sing
Gwen Stefani & Akon - The Sweet Escape

Timbaland Featuring Justin Timberake & Nelly Furtado - Give It to Me

This category tends to be a mix of adult pop and top 40 picks, but can also be a head scratcher when collaborations that cross genres do not appear. Two songs in particular I would have expected to see on the submission list were missing: Rihanna & Jay-Z's "Umbrella," perhaps because they submitted it in R&B instead, and Reba McEntire & Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You," which must have been considered too country. With those out of the way, I expect the three big top 40 pop collabs of the year to appear: Beyonce and Shakira, Gwen Stefani & Akon, and Timbaland with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado. If they go with something newer, they might pick Natasha Bedingfield & Sean Kingston's "Love Like This," but I doubt it. The more adult leaning ones are harder to pick this year, with no Sheryl Crow duet worth mention. Perhaps Alison Krauss & John Waite, whose album is getting good reviews, and veteran Annie Lennox & Friends (23 of them), whose "Sing" is a pretty decent song. There are some other possibilities with Grammy pedigree, such as Wyclef Jean & Paul Simon's "Fast Car," Tony Bennett & Christina Aguilera's "Steppin' Out," or Paul Anka & Jon Bon Jovi's "My Way." Finally, last year's newcomer Corinne Bailey Rae teamed up with Amp Fiddler for "If I Don't," but I don't think it was a hit in the US, so I'm doubtful about it gettng a nod. Finally, wouldn't it be great if Lindsay and Ali Lohan's "Lohan's Holiday" got a nod? Only if the song has the subtitle: "In the Slammer."
