"O.M.G.'s" ascent to the top spot has me wondering: To what extent is digital era slang (OMG, LOL, etc.) infiltrating popular music? Are there other examples of song titles (or lyrics) that use these kinds of terms and expressions? I expect a full report as soon as you discover this comment.
Interesting. There has been some related to new technology. Like Britney Spears' "E-mail My Heart," which was written back in 1998 when email was pretty new. Lots of phone songs: Kylie's "Speakerphone" and GaGa's "Telephone." Beyonce in particular really like's technology, with her last album including the songs "Video Phone," "Satellites" and "Radio." Basshunter put out an album called LOL <(^^,)>.
