Grammy prediction: Female Pop Performance w/Vocal

Lily Allen - Smile

Feist - 1234

Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry

Norah Jones - Thinking About You

Amy Winehouse - Rehab

As usual, a competitve category. Since Amy Winehouse is likely to get a record nod, she should rightly show up here too. Fergie, who I expect will be overlooked for record, should be here too. If Norah Jones gets an album nod, I'd see this as pretty definite for her, since she's been here before. I'm looking to new artists with quirky first singles to snag the last two slots: Feist with "1234" and Lily Allen with "Smile." I think they will edge out Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right," which feels old by now, Brits Corrine Bailey Rae ("Like a Star") and KT Tunstall ("Hold On") who were hotter last year, and Pink's "Who Knew," which really was released a very long time ago. If sappy Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" or Celine Dion's "Taking Chances" remake show up here though, expect scorn.
